Hertz Collision is the solo project of Italian artist Francesco Profeti. Originally founded in 2009 together with Pietro Franchini, the project entered a new phase in 2019, when Profeti continued under the Hertz Collision moniker as a solo artist. Rooted in rhythm, pressure and movement, Hertz Collision’s work reflects a direct yet detailed approach to techno, balancing club functionality, tension and atmosphere. Rather than relying on a fixed formula, the project moves through different shades of contemporary techno, connecting hypnotic structures, stripped-back intensity and a strong rhythmic language.
Recent years have marked a renewed phase for Hertz Collision, with releases and collaborations connected to Clergy, Sublunar, CLR and Truncate. His work with Sciahri has become a central part of this period, including Echoes Of The Void, Axis Mundi and Contatto, alongside independent material and collaborations with Ketch. As a DJ, Hertz Collision has appeared across the European and international underground circuit, with performances at clubs and events including Tresor, Radion, Perron, BRET, BASIS, Stereo Montréal, OXI Berlin, Tenax and Ether Festival. Focused on precision, movement and long-form progression, Hertz Collision continues to develop a sound shaped by both established club experience and a renewed studio identity.
