Progressing from the dance floor to promoting events and learning to spin records himself, the Frenchman has become one of the world’s best-known selectors, traversing the globe both as a solo artist and as part of infamous trio Apollonia. Dyed is not only a highly respected DJ, but also a skilled producer, with several classic releases under his belt as well as an album with Apollonia.
Dyed’s journey began at the legendary Kwality parties run by Dan Ghenacia, a DJ who Dyed idolised in those early years. Eventually they became friends and formed a longstanding friendship that formed the unshakeable foundations of his career. These early experiences of Paris’ afterhours soirees undoubtedly shaped the music Soundorom makes and plays today – psychedelic, deep and above all else, groovy.
When Dan launched his Freak N’Chic label, Dyed and Shonky were among the first artists supported by the outlet. Early forays into production resulted in a series of classic releases including the ‘Question’ EP, ‘Remote Cocktail’, ‘Tapioka’ (on Tsuba) and his massive remix of Anthea & Alex Celler’s ‘The Playmaker’. This first wave of Dyed productions helped establish him as a talented producer and catapulted him into the global spotlight. More recently he has clocked up a series of unforgettable remixes including Onno’s ‘Paragroove’ [Moon Harbour], ‘Sunday Gathering’ by Terence :Terry: and Hanfry Martinez [La Vie En Rose], ‘What They Say’ by Maya Jane Coles [Real Tone] ‘Ometeo’ by Dan Ghenacia [Apollonia] among many others as well as a lovely collab with Cajmere, titled 1+1=1 . Each release embodied Dyed’s unmistakeable sound, full of deep grooves and infectious rhythm.
Soon after that first batch of releases his favourite club came knocking at the door and Dyed scored a residency at DC10 Ibiza, playing the infamous Circoloco Mondays. Fast forward a few years and Dyed has become an integral member of the DC10 family, often playing alongside his Apollonia brothers, opening and closing the summer season with their unforgettable sets.
In the years since Dyed first started to make waves he has appeared at a long list of the world’s most respected and influential club spaces from Panorama Bar (Berlin), fabric (London) and Womb (Tokyo) to Robert Johnson (Frankfurt) and DEdge (Sao Paulo) as well as Concrete and Rex Club, in his hometown Paris, the latter where he hosted a residency that ran for a couple of years. He has also appeared at a variety of festivals, transferring the afterhours sound to the big stage. From Burning Man in the United States to Timewarp in Germany, BPM in Mexico, Sunwaves in Romania,  DGTL, Loveland & Music On Festival in the Netherlands and Weather in France..
2012 marked an important moment in Dyed’s career with the launch of a label and DJing outfit with best friends Shonky and Dan Ghenacia. Presenting a back-to-back, one-record-each marathon performance, the trio have taken the concept around the world. As a label, it provides a platform for the three to release their own music, as well as other producers they admire and the occasional repress of a classic, too. As a DJ performance it is unique and has won the three men an army of fans all over planet Earth.
In 2018, 20 years since he first fell in love with club culture, Dyed Soundorom remains buoyant and motivated to continue spreading the house and techno gospel. Whether he’s spinning alongside his Apollonia buddies or flying solo, he maintains a high level of professionalism, selecting music to please the body, mind and soul, music that is built on sultry rhythms and irresistible grooves.
One of the leaders of the contemporary French house scene Dyed remains a treasured selector to fans and industry figureheads alike…
